THOUSANDS of people travelled back in time at the Swanage Railway Diesel Gala and Beer Festival.

Enthusiasts travelled from across the country to view the wide range of diesel locomotives on display.

Around 3,500 people visited across three days from Friday to Sunday with many enjoying a train ride as part of their visit.

Swanage Railway General Manager Matt Green said: “The festival has been going for more than 10 years and is getting more and more popular.

“We had a large number of visiting diesel locomotives from across the country and we operated an intensive train service.

“There was also a really good beer festival with real ales and ciders at Corfe Castle.”
