TWO teenage boys were allegedly assaulted while cycling in Bournemouth.

The incident happened at around 10.30pm on Thursday, April 27.

Two 17-year-old boys were cycling along Ringwood Road near Bearwood Motors when they heard a man shouting at them.

It is reported that one of the victims was dragged to the ground and assaulted while the second victim was grabbed by another man.

The boys were allegedly placed into a room at a premises along the same road for an unknown period of time before they were released.

One of the boys sustained bruises to his head and a broken finger.

A 26-year-old man from Bournemouth has been arrested on suspicion of assault and false imprisonment and has been released under investigation.

Detective Constable Joanne Poultney, of Bournemouth CID, said: “This was an unusual incident and enquiries are underway to establish what happened.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area of Ringwood Road between 10.30pm and 11pm on Thursday and saw or heard anything suspicious or unusual to please contact Dorset Police.

“Officers from the local Neighbourhood Policing Team will continue to carry out high visibility patrols in the area to reassure the community and to discuss any direct concerns.”
