Looking for some good food to eat this summer? Here is our guide to just some of the events taking place in Dorset.

The Christchurch Food and Wine Festival will be taking place on May 6 and 7 and will be the 18th event since the food festival began. Opening at 10am on both days, the street market will spread throughout the town centre and Christchurch Quay, with more than 100 stalls offering delicious treats. The Shaftesbury Food and Drink Festival will be in the hilltop town this month, celebrating the best in Food and Drink. There will be a variety of cakes to choose from among many other tempting food stalls too. There will be free admission to the Abbey on Sunday, May 14, from 9am to 5pm.

Poole’s first ever annual Seven Seas Festival is a free event which will be happening in Baiter Park. The event will be held over three days and two nights, from May 19 to 21. Family-friendly international food will be served, bringing a world of tastes and traditions to Harbourside Park. The gate opening times on the Friday are 12pm to 10pm, Saturday is 10am-10pm and Sunday 10am to 6pm.

The Highcliffe Revival Food Festival will be held on May 20 and 21. It will take place on the high street, where a huge range of stalls will offer artisan and popular take-away foods. On the Saturday it will be opening 10am to 5pm, where celebrity TV chef Lesley Waters will make an appearance. Open Sunday from 10am-4pm.

The Swanage Fish Festival is swimming into action in the Prince Albert Gardens. Stalls offering an array of exotic fish and locally sourced ‘catch of the day’, champagne and oysters will all be available from morning to midnight on Saturday and until 5pm Sunday. Takes place June 10 and 11.

The Cheese and Chilli Festival returns to Christchurch next month where you'll find, well, cheese and chilli from around the globe. Sarah Ali Choudhury will be in the Demonstration Tent cooking her famous Chilli Paneer Blaze. Takes place Saturday, June 10 and Sunday, June 11 between 10am and 5pm. Entry is £5 for adults, £3 for seniors and children are free.

The Bridport Food Festival will be serving everything delicious from the Bridport area on Sunday, June 11 until Saturday, June 17. It will be around the town and surrounding area, finishing with the main event at Asker Meadows on the final day. There will be cookery demonstrations and a local producers’ marquee, where you’ll find the best food and drink from producers across the local area. Entry is £3 for adults and free for children under 16.

Bournemouth Vegan Fair heads to the BIC on Saturday, June 17 and Sunday, June 18. This is Dorset’s largest vegan event, offering a shopping experience with 90 hand-picked stalls showcasing a range of vegan products. Tickets are £5 for adults, £3.50 for OAPs and students, and children under 15 go free. It's open from 11am to 4pm on both days.

Bournemouth Food and Drink Festival will be taking place between June 16 and 25. The free event in Bournemouth Square features a Demonstration Kitchen where some of the best local chefs will be showing off their skills, along with the farmers and producers market. Open from 10am each day.

Another to catch is the award winning Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival, which is free to attend. It will be around Weymouth’s famous historic harbourside on Saturday, July 8 and Sunday, July 9. Celebrity chef, food writer and TV presenter Sophie Michell will be there who's cooked for the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio and Princes William and Harry. Bournemouth Echo: Pictures from the Great Dorset Chilli Festival over the weekend of August 2 and 3, 2014 at St Giles House, Wimborne St Giles.

The hottest day out is sure to be the Great Dorset Chilli Festival which will be held at St Giles House in Wimborne St Giles. The seventh festival will be held on Saturday, August 5 and Sunday August 6, where there will be a chilli-con-carne cook-off and a best sauce competition. Gates open at 10am on both days with last entry at 4.30pm. Adult tickets (aged 16+) are £6 in advance and £8 on the gate. Children (aged 11-16 years) cost £2.50 in advance and £3 on gate. Children aged 10 and under are free. Family tickets (2 adults, 3 children) are £14.50 in advance and £19 on the gate.

And for those who want to splash out, Rick Stein will be hosting a ‘pop up’ cinema and seafood event at the Chewton Glen. Guests can expect a menu of seafood dishes curated by Rick Stein who owns a restaurant in Sandbanks. The menu will use the finest seafood and produce, and will include diverse tasty menus featuring lamb, a vegetarian option and plenty of Rick’s signature seafood dishes. Takes place from Sunday, July 9 to Sunday, July 23. Costs £65 per person.
