THE body of a popular Bournemouth father-of-four who died in the USA has been repatriated and a date set for his funeral.

Software engineer Chris Gamble was found collapsed on April 13 while working in Chicago for a Hampshire-based communications company.

A funeral service will be held at St Mark's Church in Talbot Village on Monday May 8 at 2pm and Chris' family have stressed that all friends are welcome to attend.

A committal service will then take place at Bournemouth Crematorium at 3.30pm before a celebration of Chris' life at the Poppies Sports Club in Victoria Park, Namu Road. Bright clothing would be appreciated, said Chris' dad Bob, but is optional.

Chris, of Minstead Road, Kinson, died of a diabetes-related condition.

The 47-year-old was well-known in Bournemouth and was a singer and keyboard player who performed in pubs and clubs. He was also a classic motorbike enthusiast.

He leaves a wife, Sarah, and their four children, Hannah, 25, Thomas,22, Victoria, 19, and Liam, two.
