THIS year's Purbeck Art Weeks (PAW) Festival, which takes place at a range of venues across the district, starts at the end of May.

The event, with 'A Moment in Time' as its theme for 2017, includes open studios, exhibitions, workshops and live performances.

During the festival people are being urged to visit Rollington Barn, near Corfe Castle, to find out exactly what is going on and where.

Festival spokesman Charlotte Heath said: "At Rollington you will get a taste of what is on offer so this is the ideal place to start your art trail - after delicious refreshments in the courtyard café.

"Artwork from Purbeck Young Artist's school workshops is once again on display here - always full of creativity and imagination – including this year's fabulous Isle of Purbeck working clock."

Alongside the visual arts and numerous open studios, the festival will also include music and other events.

Charlotte said: "We'll have Monteverdi’s opera Orfeo performed by the superb I Fagiolini in Wareham, the Fieri Consort with an exploration of love's tribulations through sixteenth and twentieth century madrigals and songs, the Gabrieli Consort singing English part songs and the talented Ate?a Wind Quintet with a delightful programme of music From Bizet to Gershwin."

The PAW Festival takes place from May 27- June 11.
