IT’S been a decade since the release of Scouting For Girls’ million-selling self-titled debut album.

And to celebrate the 10th anniversary, the band is set to release an extended, deluxe version on May 19 with 14 additional tracks.

The new album includes some unreleased demos as well as all their classic hits ‘It’s Not About You’, ‘She’s So Lovely’, ‘Elvis Ain’t Dead’, ‘Heartbeat’ and ‘I Wish I Was James Bond’.

Band member Roy Stride said: “Here we are ten years on, and thanks to this album, our friendship and our fans we’re still getting away with it, still without proper jobs.

“I have nothing but affection for these eleven songs and it’s been lovely to revisit them for this special anniversary edition.”

The band has also announced a new headline tour including a date in Bournemouth on Friday, November 17 at Bournemouth O2 Academy.

But if you can’t wait that long, you can catch the band this weekend when they headline the Dorset-based Teddy Rocks festival at Charisworth Farm in Blandford.

The fundraising festival which runs from Friday, April 28 to Sunday, 30, also features Scottish band Twin Atlantic and Dubstep and electronic rock band from London, Modestep.

Scouting for Girls will close the festival on Sunday, April 30.

Teddy Rocks started in 2011 as a pub gig, run by Tom Newton, 27, in memory of his brother Ted, who died aged just 10 from a rare bone cancer.

Scouting For Girls burst onto the scene on February 14 in 2007.

A triple platinum number one debut album followed as well as multiple top ten singles which earned them a dedicated set of fans that still follow them a decade later.

Throughout their career they have sold over 1.5 million albums, had two million singles, four Brit Award nominations and an Ivor Novello nomination.

As well as playing some of the UK’s biggest festivals this summer, Scouting For Girls who are Roy Stride, Greg Churchouse and Pete Ellard say they are looking forward to being back on the road later this year for the 2017 headline tour.

Tickets for the tour which rolls into Bournemouth on November 17, will go on sale this Friday, April 28 at 9am and will be available via gigsandtours.com and ticketmaster.co.uk.
