IF John Rampton’s condescending and complacent attitude towards the provision of basic amenities is typical of those prevailing in Borough of Poole, it’s no wonder the town has lost its way.
His description of the Jubilee Road toilets will not impress Jeff Williams, I’m sure! I used them often, they were of a reasonable basic standard and were only ever as Cllr Rampton described them as a result of those with addictive problems resorting to the amenities as part of their “Care in the Community”.
Often the state of the amenity relates to the poor standard of cleaning which is clearly not aggressively monitored... the same applies to Bournemouth public toilets in some cases.
The solution?
Have a word with Purbeck District Council. It puzzles me that a small town like Wareham can provide toilets of exemplary standard with nothing like the resources of income from Sandbanks and Canford Cliffs and the like.
