TWO main routes between Blandford and Shaftesbury were closed following a crash between two lorries and emergency road works following a crane fire.

The C13 was closed at Spread Eagle Hill while police dealt with a collision between the two lorries.

No-one has been seriously injured, according to police.

The crash happened at around 1pm.

A recovery vehicle was arranged for the lorries, and a hydraulic fluid spill was cleared from the road.

It re-opened at around 2.30pm.

Due to emergency road works on the A350 following a crane fire yesterday, which damaged the carriageway at Bozley Hill, there was no direct access for motorists between Blandford and Shaftesbury.

Motorists were being advised to avoid the area.

The A350 was shut until around 6.30pm while the crane was recovered.

Workers were experiencing "logistical problems" removing the vehicle, according to Dorset County Council.
