CHANGES are being made to a number of Yellow Bus service routes around the area.

From Sunday, April 30, the company will be introducing new timetables to bus routes serving parts of Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch.

The changes effect routes 18, 20, 33 and 36 and will also see the cancellation of some "lightly used" early morning and late evening journeys.

They are part of the planned second phase of network change which took effect from January this year.

Route 18, which will become H1, will see the last two journeys on the Broadstone loop removed as well as journey to and from Bournemouth Railway Station.

Route 20 is spilt into two separate services. The Bournemouth via Penn Hill service remains an hourly service, and is combined with the existing route 33 to operate a through service between Poole, Penn Hill, Westbourne, Bournemouth, East Cliff, Boscombe, Royal Bournemouth Hospital, Southbourne and Christchurch. This service will be numbered D1.

And the Bournemouth to Castlepoint service will be combined with the existing C1 route, providing a through service for West Cliff and Alum Chine residents to and from Castlepoint.

Buses to and from the the universities are also affected including U5, U6, U9 and U10.

There will also be an increase to promotional fares available on Yellow Buses’ app as well as the child 7-day and 30-day tickets and school service day returns.

All adult and child single and return fares on Yellow Buses’ regular network remain unchanged.
