The Easter holidays are set to start for many from tomorrow. If you're after a few ideas on what to do this weekend, here's a guide to just some of the events taking place.

You can also find a round-up of Easter egg hunts and trails here

The first ever Dorset Neon Run takes place in Poole Park on Saturday. You can run, dance or walk around the 5k route. Participants will be provided with glow sticks, bracelets and neon paint to help light up the night and glow as they go. The event is raising funds for Diverse Abilities, the only charity that supports children and adults with disabilities in Dorset. Registration fee is £20, which can fund one child’s place at the charity youth club. To take part or volunteer at the event, go to www.dorsetneonrun.com.

Collections at the Bournemouth Natural Science Society in Christchurch Road will go on show as part of a one-day event on Saturday, April 8. The museum houses Egyptian artefacts - including a mummy - as well as fossils, butterflies and pressed flowers. Those who attend the free event will also have the opportunity to see the museum's artefacts. The open day will take place between 10am and 4pm.

There's a free screening of family favourite Trolls on Sunday at the Tesco Extra Fleets Corner store in Waterloo Road. It is the second drive-in film the supermarket has shown after screening Bridget Jones’s Baby last month. Entry will be on a first come, first served basis so customers are advised to arrive from 6pm for the showing, which will start at 8pm or once the car park is full. Those with larger cars will be placed accordingly to avoid views being obstructed for other vehicles.

A scale model exhibition hosted by the Poole Vikings Model Club and the International Plastic Modeller’s Society Dorset Branch will take place at Parkstone Grammar School in Sopers Lane between 10am and 4pm on Saturday. Admission is £3.50 for adults and £1 for children.

A donkey will lead the Palm Sunday procession from the Allendale Centre to the Minster church on April 9. The procession will leave the community centre at 9.20am. Participants will arrive at the Minster for the 9.45am parish eucharist service. All are welcome to join.

A stamp and postcard fair will take place at the Barrington Centre on Saturday, April 8 between 10am and 4pm. An auction will take place at 4.30pm. Admission is free.
