Discover the secrets of Boscombe Chine on a guided walk with Hattie Miles starting at 10.30am on Good Friday from the Chine Hotel. During the hour-and-a-half walk, you will find out about Boscombe Chine’s history, the many famous people connected to it and discover some of its hidden secrets. An Easter food and craft fair will take place at Vitality Stadium on Monday, April 17 between 11am and 4pm. Admission is free.

The mayor’s annual duck race takes place on Easter Saturday. The first race, at 2pm, will see 50 rubber ducks race along Bourne Stream by the bandstand. The winning duck from each race will compete in a final. Ducks cost £1 and are on sale from 1pm in the gardens by the mini golf. 

The Thai Food Festival will be held in The Square from Friday April 14 until Sunday April 16, offering food demonstration workshops, a Thai boxing show, classical dancing, music and Thai beer. The Tourism Authority of Thailand, will also be in attendance to promote tourism to Thailand and the event gives members of the Thai community the chance to come together and celebrate their tradition, culture and language.

The eighth annual Big Bournemouth Beer Festival takes place from April 14-16 at the Bournemouth International Centre. The event offers a huge range of real ales and novelty beers and tickets, costing £7.50 - £8, are available by calling 0844 576 3000.

Hundreds of runners will take part in the Rotary Easter Road Race on Saturday. They will be supporting charities including Cystic Fibrosis Trust, Bournemouth Hospital and the Narayan Devi School in Nepal. The race starts at 11am at Boscombe Pier and covers 6.7miles. 

A flare amnesty will take place at a family sea safety day in Poole on Saturday. The event, organised by Dorset Police, MDL Marina and Ramora UK to raise awareness about the dangers of expired flares, will take place at Cobbs Quay between 10am and 2pm.

The Wareham Easter Beerex, a showcase of real ales, is being held on Friday, April 14 and Saturday, April 15 from 11am to 3pm and 7 to 11pm. More than 25 real ales from all over the country and beyond will be on offer at the Wareham Masonic Hall. Tickets at all afternoon and evening sessions are £10.

A parade will take place through the streets of Christchurch on Saturday in honour of the Rifles regiment. The Rifles Freedom of the Borough march will start at 11.40am from Christchurch Quay. The regiment will march onto parade, ahead of a short address and inspection, before they march off at 12.15pm. The parade will take place down the High Street, before a private reception is held by the Mayor of Christchurch, Cllr Trish Jamieson at the Civic Offices.
