CHRISTCHURCH council could spend £14,000 on buying the Mayor's car.
That's the recommendation being made to members of the council's policy and resources committee, which is due to meet on Wednesday night.
A report to the committee said the lease for the car, an Audi A6, is due to end on May 16, 2017, with the council offered the chance to buy the car from the leasing company.
The current car is nearly four years and has travelled around 13,250 miles. It is said to be 'in good working order'.
The report adds: "During the current period of uncertainty regarding Local Government Reorganisation in Dorset, it would not be advisable to commit to an arrangement for a new car beyond 2019."
To buy the current car would cost £14,850 with the lease cost of a new car over two years priced at £9,850.
