BOURNEMOUTH Imam Majid Yasin has "deeply condemned" the actions of a man who killed innocent people in Westminster during last week's terror attack.

Khalid Masood, 52, mowed down members of the public in a brutal attack on Wednesday (MAR 22) killing four pedestrians and injuring 50 others at Westminster Bridge.

He then crashed his Hyundai into the railings of Parliament Yard before he burst through the gates with two large knives.

It was there that he stabbed unarmed PC Keith Palmer. MP Tobias Ellwood rushed to the PC's aid. Despite giving him mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and attempting to stem the bleeding, PC Palmer died at the scene.

Masood was shot by a close protection officer attached to Defence Secretary Sir Michael Fallon. Paramedics tried to revive him but he later died.

Imam Yasin told the Daily Echo: "We deeply condemn it - and anything like this war.

"Islam does not accept people killing people. I believe this man is a criminal. Whatever his religion - it is not our religion. If he converted that was his choice.

"Even the Prime Minister said Islam means peace. All the Muslims are upset by this.

"What was his reason? It's disgusting."

The attack sent Westminster - and much of the city - into lockdown immediately after the event.

Imam Yasin added: "We believe he is not Muslim. It is about peace - not killing people.

"Living here in this country - we consider this our country also. We should protect the UK. We live here with our children and this man goes and kills innocent people attacking children.

"I don't know what his reason was but Muslims are more upset because the media made the association between him and Islam. "But we don't believe in that mentality - that of ISIS.

"We deeply and strongly condemn this incident.

"Our duty is to make sure our children and women are safe. We're happy and proud in this country. Killing innocent people - it's just disgusting."
