FIREFIGHTERS battled a blaze in a Bournemouth park last night.
The fire, on the common next to Turbary Park Avenue in West Howe, was reported at around 7.30pm.
Dorset Fire said it had affected an area around 20m by 10m in size.
A spokesman said it was "quickly" extinguished using hose reel jets from one fire engine and a four-by-four vehicle.
Crews remained on the scene to dampen down and ensure the area was safe.
The matter has now been referred to the police to investigate.
