THIRTY youngsters have completed the first ever 'Durlston Dash' fun run in Purbeck.
The children, aged 8-13, completed the hilly 2.5km course in under 24 minutes, before relaxing afterwards with medals, cakes and biscuits.
Purbeck Runners coach Dave Pratten helped the Durlston Country Park rangers organise the event.
A spokesman said: "The event was delivered as a pilot project for a new Heritage Lottery (HLF) Fund ‘Parks for People’ grant that Dorset County Council is applying for at the Swanage country park.
"The funding will help to set up new health and wellbeing activities to encourage people, both young and old, to get outdoors into the fresh air more often and have fun."
A display detailing the HLF project will be displayed at Durlston Country Park during the Easter holidays.
