CCTV has been released after 50 gold rings worth around £10,000 were stolen from a Poole jewellers.
Police are calling for anyone with information to come forward after the incident, which took place at Mortons Jewellers in the High Street just after 2.10pm on Saturday, February 18.
A member of staff had put a tray of men's gold rings on the counter top near to the front of the shop before briefly turning away.
As he did, a man looked around the door of the shop and picked up the whole tray of rings before making off.
PC Zach Dredge, of Poole police, said detectives wish to speak to the man in the CCTV footage.
"This appears to have been an opportunist theft and no threats were made to staff or the public during the incident," he said.
