THE Daily Echo Camera Club is already proving itself very much in the picture - after a staggering 460 people signed up in just the first three days.

Along with our sister paper, the Dorset Echo, the Echo Camera Club Dorset has been launched to give photographers the chance to see their images published online and in print.

As well as the chance their pictures could be viewed by potentially millions of people, there will also be monthly competitions with a £50 jackpot and the chance to meet professional photographers.

Corin Messer, head of digital imaging at Bournemouth Daily Echo, said: “It has been an incredible experience watching photographers of all abilities and experience flock to the group and I would like to thank our members for making Echo Camera Club Dorset such a roaring success.”

He added: “The standard of photography being displayed, which is frankly jaw dropping, goes to show not only the stunning nature of the area in which we live but also the incredible talent of photographers in our patch.

“I hope the group will remain a fun and friendly place to show off pictures, ask questions and share photographic knowledge for many years to come.”

You can join our dedicated Facebook group where members can share their best snaps and tips, get feedback and ask for advice.

Our competition will have a different theme each month, and we’d love you to suggest some ideas for what you’d like to see as well.

There will even be special prizes for picture events taking place across Dorset, which could include Christchurch Food Festival and Bournemouth Air Festival.

Existing camera clubs across Dorset have already been contacted - so sign up now!
