A VILLAGE has received a £50,000 grant towards the cost of a new multi-use games area.
Money from the Veolia Environmental Trust will enable the facility to be built on land next to the village hall in Highwood Road in Brockenhurst.
The grant, which covers half the projected cost of the project, has delighted members of the village’s Multi-Use Games Area
(MUGA) committee.
Paul Taylor, executive member of the Veolia Trust, added: “The village must be congratulated on securing this grant. We considered a record number of applications during this round so the project managed to succeed in a very competitive environment.”
A fun day is being held on April 1 to help raise the rest of the money needed.
