A CHARITY extravaganza brought together some of Bournemouth’s finest artists to perform songs from George Michael’s vast repertoire.
Over 300 people gathered at Canvas for the ‘Too Funky’ event to celebrate the late singer which raised £5,000 for two relevant charities, the British Heart Foundation and Childline.
Organiser Darren Northeast, of Darren Northeast PR, said: “We have smashed our fundraising target and are delighted to have raised such a substantial amount for the two charities. I believe this is really a testament to how George Michael’s music touched so many lives.”
Following this success, Darren Northeast PR, Canvas, and the group of local musicians known as The Collective, will be holding further events to celebrate 2016’s lost icons and raise money for relevant charities.
The next event in memory of Prince is on April 6. Visit eliteticket.co.uk/portfolio/prince
