A PARKSTONE nursery where children are taught everything from knife safety to how to blow their noses has received an 'outstanding' Ofsted report.

Cuddles Day Nursery was awarded the highest possible rating in all four areas of assessment by inspectors after a visit last year.

The nursery was founded by Linda Duly in 2003. The Parkstone branch is one of three privately-owned nurseries in Poole.

It is based in the grounds of St Aldhelm's Academy in Herbert Avenue.

Linda said: "We are delighted to have received another 'outstanding' Ofsted report.

"At our previous Ofsted inspection in January 2014, Parkstone received a 'good' rating and we are very pleased to regain the 'outstanding' classification that we had enjoyed in past years.

"I am particularly pleased for the manager at Parkstone, Emma Murray, and all the staff, who through their complete dedication to the job and our children have worked so hard to gain this recognition from Ofsted."

Inspectors noted that children at the nursery are "exceptionally emotionally secure".

Linda believes this is down to staff teaching youngsters how to manage risk.

Toddlers are taught a range of skills, including how to use knives safely.

Currently there are 22 members of staff at the nursery, which opens between 7.45am and 6pm.
