FAMILIES are encouraged to bring any musical instruments they have and join a new orchestra project.

Coda is collaborating with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra on the Family Orchestra project, which aims get people of all ages sharing the joy of music making while having the experience of playing in an ensemble.

The first session runs from Sunday, February 19 from 10am to 12pm at the Shelley Theatre in Boscombe and it is open to everyone, whatever their musical standard, from experienced musicians to those who have just started on an instrument.

A spokesperson for the BSO said: "The orchestra will be led by Coda workshop leader and BSO Associate Sam Mason, a musician with an international reputation for her work in creating new and original music and Sam will be joined by special guests from the Coda team each month."

The cost for each session is £6 for two people, £8 for three people and £10 for a family of four or more. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
