POLICE are searching for a car which failed to stop following a crash with a motorcycle in Lymington.

Officers were called to the collision, which happened in Milford Road shortly before 6.30pm on Saturday, February 11.

The 28-year-old motorcyclist was knocked off his bike, and it is reported that the car, believed to be a blue Volvo estate car, stopped temporarily but then drove off in the direction of Lymington.

The motorcyclist, who was riding an orange Triumph Tiger motorcycle, suffered an injury to his pelvis and was taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the car is described as a white man, in his 20s or 30s, and with short hair.

PC Lynsey Andrews said: “This collision happened on a busy road so we know that there would have been a number of vehicles travelling in the area that may have seen the car.

“If you were in the area that day and think you may have seen a car matching the description given, please contact us as you may have information that can assist our investigation.

“The Volvo would have sustained damage to the front of it so if you know someone with a similar car that has recently been damaged, let us know.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Andrews on 101, quoting 44170054539, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
