A SCHOOL is among the community causes to benefit from funding as a former nuclear site is decommissioned.

Magnox, which is managing the former Winfrith site, has supported seven projects through the company’s £600,000 socio-economic scheme.

Donations include £500 towards Wool Carnival, £408 to purchase new equipment for Weymouth Amateur Boxing Club, £250 to Lulworth and Winfrith Primary School for an artist to work with children to create a spiritual garden, and £600 to Dorset Reading Partners for new book boxes for reading volunteers.
