AN ITALIAN photographer was so blown away by the beauty of the UK coast that he spent two years photographing it - and of course, Dorset was one of his favourites.

Alessio Putzu moved to the UK in May 2014.

Once here, he soon realised just how beautiful the country’s coast is and set about photographing it.

He said: “When I first came to the UK from Italy I decided to have a look around on Google for ideas around the UK and that started it.”

It wasn’t an easy task though, with it taking two years for Alessio to go around Dorset, Cornwall, Devon, the Highlands in Scotland and many more places.

Alessio, who is based in London, described Dorset as a “beautiful” place to photograph.

He said: “You’ve got Corfe Castle and Kimmeridge Bay, Durdle Door and the Jurassic Coast. It’s quite an amazing place on the Jurassic Coast.”

Despite his mammoth effort to catch the UK’s shoreline on camera, Alessio isn’t done yet and now plans to travel to Northern Ireland to finish off photographing the UK.

After that he said that he may head to Australia to see if the coast down under can compete with ours.
