MOTORISTS in Dorset may have been understandably shocked this morning after being held up on the roads - by a plane.
A 4.45 metre wide aircraft fuselage was transported through the county with a police escort between 10am and 10.30am.
The abnormal load - part of a 46-year-old Boeing 727 airliner - is being taken from Bournemouth International Airport to the Cotswold Airport in Cirencester.
Police warned drivers of the route on Thursday.
The fuselage was taken along the B3073 Parley Lane, Christchurch Road, Ham Lane and onto the A31 out of county.
Howard Curtis captured the fuselage on camera as it was "making its way gingerly around the Canford Bottom roundabout".
He said the airliner was initially used by Portuguese national airline TAP and most recently flew as an executive jet.
In more recent years, the fuselage had been stored outside at Bournemouth Airport.
