ECHO readers don't need to travel the globe to stay in the best hotels.

In fact, they don't even need to leave the county.

For the world's best B&B isn't in Paris or New York - it's in Lulworth Cove.

Bindon Bottom has been crowned the world's best B&B in the 2017 Travellers’ Choice Awards for hotels, announced today by website TripAdvisor.

It's the second time the guesthouse has taken the top spot in the past three years.

The Victorian country house, built in 1871, is based at the bottom of Bindon Hill in West Lulworth.

Owners Lisa and Clive Orchard set up the B&B in 2010.

Clive is originally from Dorset and learnt to swim at Durdle Door.

The couple said their award is "heartwarming".

"We are genuinely appreciative to be recognised again in this year's Travellers’ Choice Awards, and we want to sincerely thank all of our guests for reviewing us so kindly," Lisa said.

"We really do feel so grateful to be able to meet and accommodate guests from all over the world, who have come to Lulworth Cove to experience England's spectacular World Heritage listed Jurassic coastline."

Bindon Bottom is the only B&B to have been named UK’s number one twice in the history of the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards.

Award winners were determined based on the millions of reviews and opinions collected in a single year from TripAdvisor travellers worldwide.

Elsewhere in Dorset, Bay View Hotelin Weymouth is named fourth best bargain hotel in the UK, while Rousdon’s Dower House Hotel and Derby Manor Hotel in Bournemouth take 14th and 18th place respectively in the UK small hotels category.

Hayley Coleman of TripAdvisor said: "Unlike other hospitality awards, these are based on feedback from actual guests over the past year, which is what makes them so prized within the industry."

Aria Hotel Budapest in Hungary has taken the title of world's top hotel 2017.

The hotel’s design is inspired by music, with each of the four wings dedicated to a different genre of music.
