PROTESTS against plans to make Royal Bournemouth Hospital the county’s major emergency centre will be staged across the county on Saturday.
Poole Labour Party and Wimborne Labour Party will each stage a day of action to raise awareness of the NHS funding crisis.
The controversial Clinical Services Review proposes Poole Hospital as a centre for planned care with an urgent care centre and the relocation of Poole Hospital’s maternity and paediatric services to Bournemouth.
Katie Taylor, chair of Poole Labour, said: “It’s a disgrace that under Conservative rule our NHS is facing a humanitarian crisis. And the reason for the crisis is clear: underfunding.”
The Poole protest will take place at Falkland Square from 10am and campaigners will also be at Wimborne Library, Eastbrook Row.
