MORE than 200 members of the Dorset Ladies Luncheon Club were treated to a speech delivered by Esther Rantzen at their annual Christmas get-together. They gathered at the Marsham Court Hotel in Bournemouth to hear anecdotes from the popular TV presenter and campaigner.
Members of the club meet every month between October and April and each year a special guest is invited to their festive gathering.
Recent guests have included Gloria Hunniford, Edwina Currie, Simon Calder, Eve Pollard and Angela Rippon.
Valerie Pound, who organises speakers for the Christmas event, said: "This club has been in existence for 41 years and it is lovely to get together at this time of the year.
"We were delighted that Esther Rantzen could join us in Bournemouth this year."
