BOURNEMOUTH-BASED recruitment specialist Jobshop UK has pledged to help raise £11,340 for Montacute School in Poole to help buy play equipment for its children.

Montacute is a specialist school looking after 75 young people with complex learning difficulties or disabilities.

Last year the school was completely rebuilt but the budget was cut from £12 million to £5 million, leaving no funds for essential equipment.

Jobshop UK is hoping to raise money for a two-seat swing, one wheelchair accessible and the other a full support seat.

Karon Nougher, fundraising co-ordinator at Montacute School, said: "The combination swing gives all pupils the opportunity to play together fostering inclusive play.

"Outside play is vital to children with special needs as it really helps to alleviate tension and helps them becomes less stressed. We are very grateful that Jobshop UK has chosen Montacute as its charity of 2017 and look forward to supporting them in the fundraising activities and events they have planned for us throughout the year."

Frances Miles, director at Jobshop UK, said: “As a local employer, it’s incredibly important for Jobshop to support and raise awareness of local charities in any way we can.

"Our clients and business associates have always been hugely supportive of our charitable events so we’ve kicked off our fundraising by delivering chocolate coin filled piggy banks to them and inviting them to enjoy the treats and fill the piggy banks back up with £1 coins which we will collect in February. The company who raises the most will win lunch delivered to their office, courtesy of Jobshop."
