EXPANSION plans for the Arts University Bournemouth campus have been given the go-ahead by Poole planners.
The proposal included the construction of a new arrivals pavilion, up to 13,000sqm of new academic buildings and accommodation for 300 students at its Wallisdown campus.
There are also plans to build a new vehicular access from Gillett Road and parking for 220 cars on land south of the site.
Committee chairman Cllr Peter Pawlowski, said: “The committee unanimously supported the principle of the outline application for the extension to the AUB campus. The challenge in gaining approval for this scheme will lie in the detail, which will come before the committee in due course.”
It comes just months after Borough of Poole granted permission for a major £3million infrastructure project at Bournemouth University’s Talbot Campus - which is located right next to AUB. The proposal includes a new bus hub.
