A SCHOOL in Poole has shut following a suspected outbreak of Norovirus.
Turlin Moor Community School, which teaches children from reception class up until Year 6, was initially closed on Wednesday because of the sickness bug but re-opened yesterday.
However, after seeking advice from Public Health England (PHE), the school has decided to close again today to carry out a deep clean and is expected to re-open on Monday.
Deputy Head Hannah Easthope said: "We've taken advice from PHE, and we are closing just to make sure we can eradicate the bug."
Symptoms of the Norovirus include vomiting and diarrhoea. Most people make a full recovery within one to two days.
The virus is easily transmitted from one person to another by contact with an infected person or through contaminated food or drink, or touching contaminated surfaces or objects.
There is no treatment for the virus, other than to let it run its course.
