Emergency services have been called to Tower Park after a car crashed into a barrier.

According to a Dorset Police spokesman the collision occurred at the roundabout near Tesco just after 4.30pm.

The spokesman added that the vehicle, a black Ford Galaxy, registered to a man from Poole, was “smoking” and fire service had been called to the scene.

A spokesman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they attended and made the vehicle safe.

There were two people in the car but neither were injured.

There has also been a two-vehicle crash on the B3073 Christchurch Road near Parley Cross.

The collision involved a silver Mini and a black Vauxhall Vivaro van and took place around 4.20pm According to police the road is partially blocked and traffic is able to pass but it is causing some traffic delays in the area.

There are currently no details about injuries.

There is also slow traffic on the B3073 Leigh Road in Wimborne at the St Catherine’s junction, because of an accident involving two vehicles.

Police were called at 4.10pm to reports of a crash between a red Land rover, registered to a woman from Bournemouth, and a grey Mini, registered to a man from Wimborne.

There are no reports of any injuries at this time.
