One lane of the A338 was blocked following a crash between two vehicles.

Police were called to the collision near the Ashley Heath Interchange around 3.30pm.

It involved a white Ford Focus, registered to a man from Poole, and a red Peugeot 206, registered to a woman from Winchester.

According to a Dorset Police spokesman there were two casualties and ambulance has been notified.

"One casualty was complaining of neck and back pain and the second was complaining of neck pain," she added.

One lane was blocked on the northbound carriageway of the A338 near the roundabout while emergency services dealt with the incident and the vehicles were recovered.

All lanes were reopened at 5.40pm.

There are long delays on the B3073 Parley Lane to the Hurn Bridge Roundabout. 

There are also reports of traffic back to Blackwater on the Spur Road.
