Police are appealing for witnesses following a crash on the A350 Holes Bay Road. 

At 7.15am on Wednesday morning, police were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Holes Bay Road, at the junction of Sterte Avenue West.

The crash involved a foreign articulated lorry and a blue Yamaha motorcycle. 

The motorcyclist, a 21-year-old man from Bournemouth, was taken to Poole Hospital for assessment.

The extent of the man's injuries are not yet known.

The driver of the lorry, a 43-year-old man from Poland is helping officers with their enquiries.

No arrests have been made.

A road closure was put in place at the junction of the A350 southbound. The road was reopened at 8:50am.

Bystanders reported long tailbacks in both directions.

Police Officer Tim Brehmer, of Dorset Police's Road Policing team, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw the manner of driving or riding of either vehicle prior to the incident to please contact me.

"I would also like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while the road was closed.”
