IT’S no longer a pleasure to drive.

While engaged to go around the Bear Cross roundabout, a young lady is on her mobile phone.

On his way to school, a young lad crosses a major road on his bicycle, looking into his phone.

A driver holding a tablet while driving.

A truck driver on his mobile phone.

On every side, drivers flouting the law by speeding.

Drivers coming out from side exits on motorways, pushing through instead of waiting for an opportunity to engage.

The above are a few examples of things I witnessed within a few hours. I drive for a living and find travelling more and more scary.

I feel sorry for new drivers as they enter a hostile world on the roads, never mind the poor pedestrians.

Even though fines have increased and carnage has taken place on our roads, it has not deterred bad driving.

The only thing I can think of is for good drivers to show the example.
