POLICE have swooped on a “sophisticated” cannabis factory in Poole.

Officers identified the illegal drug production facility in Upton on Tuesday and raided the premises, discovering between 150 and 200 cannabis plants alongside the equipment required to grow them.

Posting on Facebook, Purbeck Police said: “Officers located a substantial cannabis factory in Upton on Tuesday, with approximately 150-200 cannabis plants, hydroponics, lighting, and ventilation system, a sophisticated set up it certainly was.”

According to the force the factory has been dismantled and an investigation is under way to identify those operating it.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said one person had been arrested on suspicion of drug-related offences and had been released on bail pending further enquiries.
