One lane has been closed on the A31 due to a campervan fire.

Emergency services were called to the fire on the westbound carriageway, between Cadnam and Stoney Cross, at Minstead.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that they sent two crews from Redbridge and Lymington.

Crews doused the flames using two hose reel jets.

Hampshire police were called to help manage the traffic as there is no hard shoulder at the location of the incident.

Delays were reported of around 50 minutes at the height of the incident.

A spokeman for Hampshire police said a recovery vehicle has been requested.

The road is now fully reopen, and a stop message was issued by firefighters at 6.46pm.
