A MAN was airlifted to hospital after falling on to a brick wall.
The Swanage coastguard team and the Wiltshire air ambulance were called to assist the ambulance service after a man was seriously injured on Friday night.
A spokesman for South Western Ambulance Service said it was called at 7.07pm to treat a man in his 60s.
"We were called to treat a male in his 60s who had fallen on to a brick wall and suffered a nasty back injury," he said.
The incident took place at a residential address and the man was flown to Southampton General Hospital.
The air ambulance landed at King George's Playing Field in Swanage, assisted by the coastguard and police.
The coastguard team was then requested to assist at the scene of the incident before helping the ambulance back to the landing site.
