A MCDONALD’S in Bournemouth has applied for planning permission to revamp its restaurant.
The fast-food eatery, based in Old Christchurch Road, has applied to refurbish its shopfront and install new signage and a digital screen.
Proposals submitted to the council also include a full interior redecoration.
McDonald’s states in its application that it wants to “refurbish the older look of this McDonald’s restaurant and bring it up-to-date.”
It adds the “impact of the works to be carried out to the immediate site and surrounding area would be minimal, with the replacement shopfront increasing the dining area by 2.9sqm, yet will add a more contemporary feel to the building.
“The proposal is to refurbish and minimally reconfigure the existing modern shopfront. The proposal will have no impact upon the historic fabric of the building or the surrounding area.”
Comments on the application are welcome until Friday, September 30.
