MOTOWN’S timeless legends The Four Tops and The Temptations have joined forces for a showstopping, sold-out date in Bournemouth.

The two iconic bands will appear at the BIC on Saturday, October 29 as part of a UK-wide tour.

It is not the first time The Four Tops and The Temptations have come together - they have built a lasting relationship with British audiences throughout several co-headlining tours.

The Temptations' Otis Williams said the bands were 'very excited' to be heading back to the UK.

He said: "The UK audience has always been the best in world! Looking forward to spending time and performing for the greatest fans.”

Duke Fakir of The Four Tops added: “Our UK tour is always our most exciting tour of the year. I and the other Tops are looking forward to our fall visit in our favourite country.”

The Four Tops’ groundbreaking sound includes soul, R&B, disco, doo-woop and jazz influences - they strongly contributed to define the Motown sound. Hits include I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch) and 1966 number one Reach Out (I’ll Be There).

Original member Duke Fakir heads the line-up for the tour, alongside Ronnie McNeir, Lawrence Payton and Harold ‘Spike’ Bonhart.

The Temptations were the first Motown band to win a Grammy Award in 1969 with Cloud Nine; they won three in total, plus the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013.

Among their classic are My Girl and Papa Was a Rolling Stone. The current line up of the group is Otis Williams, Ron Tyson, Terry Weeks, Larry Braggs and Willie Greene Jr.
