Bestival took the Isle of Wight back to the future this weekend with giant robots, spaceships and astronauts.

It was an epic way to end the festival season and kicked off with headliner Major Lazer on Friday night. Band members zorbed over the crowd, fire shot from the stage and there were copious amounts of confetti.

Up and coming indie-pop band, Clean Cut Kid (Also possibly the smiliest band of the weekend) rocked the Invaders of the Future stage earlier in the afternoon. Their new single 'We Use To Be In Love' was a crowd favourite and had everyone jigging in their wellies.

Saturday morning was soggy. Very soggy. But that was nothing a bacon sandwich and a cup of coffee couldn't fix.

Whilst desperately trying to find shelter we came across a hidden tent disguised as an old ship container in the woods. It felt like we were thrown back into the 1920s with gramophones playing swing music and old wooden pianos - was the perfect place to sit and escape from the very muddy outside world.

After almost 12 hours of pouring rain it was Craig David who brought the sunshine out with annoyingly contagious hits. The Cure ended the evening with a spectacular set full of classic hits and crowd pleasers. Robert Smith looked delighted to be welcomed back on the Bestival main stage.

Campers woke up to blue skies and sunshine on Sunday morning which brightened everyone's moods and even dried up *some* of the mud.

Bastille reeled in the crowds early in the evening, playing tracks from his recently released album, a TLC cover and of course the hit everyone was waiting for 'Pompeii'. But The Human League topped off the weekend for us.

We avoided the main stage headliners Wiz Kalifa and Sean-Paul and instead lost our voices singing along to 'Electric Dreams' and 'Don't You Want Me'. Nothing like a bit of 80s synth-pop to end an epic weekend.

Thanks for being awesome Bestival and see you again next year.
