BOURNEMOUTH Airport has been recognised for its safe parking facilities for the seventh year running.

The airport has been granted a Park Mark, awarded to facilities that pass a rigorous risk assessment conducted by the police and the British Parking Association.

It includes management and maintenance, levels of surveillance, lighting, signage and cleanliness.

Paul Knight, managing director of Bournemouth Airport said: “We are delighted to have achieved this recognition for the 7th year running.

"We are committed to achieving the best possible passenger experience and this seal of approval is important to us, as it reassures our passengers that we have all the measures in place to create a safe environment where they can leave their vehicles. I’d like to thank all the staff who work so hard to make sure our car parks meet the stringent requirements of the Park Mark award.”

It comes after the airport opposed the approval of an independent meet and greet parking company setting up at Adventure Wonderland.
