HAVING triumphantly emerged from the recording studio, a talented young Bournemouth musician has reinvented himself and his music.

DD Allen will be playing the hallowed stage of The Joiners in Southampton on Saturday night and the Buffalo Bar in Winton on September 8.

His compelling live shows are a mixture of irresistible guitars, soulful harmonica and heartfelt vocals.

This year DD Allen has been recording a new album with double platinum selling producer/engineer Mike Spink (Jake Bugg, The 1975) at Monnow Valley studios.

The resulting tracks have been causing ripples of anticipation throughout the music industry.

As such, multiple Grammy Award winning producer Andrew Scheps (Adele, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Hozier) is to mix the lead singles for release in October 2016 and January 2017.

The as yet untitled album is a mesmerising tour de force that further refines and entwines his two principal strands of song-writing, the sumptuous tempered ballad and the taut, immediate call to arms.

It’s been the most spectacular of journeys for DD Allen, which began with him leaving a promising career with F1 supercar manufacturer McLaren to follow his heart and write music.

Starting out as a solo performer under his real name Drew Allen, he immediately caught the ear of James Blunt and supported him on his mammoth Moon Landing arena tour in 2014.

With his debut album on the way, DD Allen will be releasing a single in October ahead of embarking on his new material.

DD Allen plays The Joiners on Saturday night alongside Quin, Kid Ackley and Regal As Kings.
