DOZENS of events will be taking place today in honour of Team GB's Olympic achievements.

From cycling to running and table tennis, taster sessions will be taking place across the county as part of a national bid to create the biggest sports day.

It has been organised by the National Lottery and ITV, who will also be switching off all their seven channels for an hour from 9.30am.

Team GB's trampolinist Nathan Bailey will be getting involved in the Poole Park Run from 9-11am. From 1.30-2.30pm, he will head to Ashdown Leisure Centre, and at 3pm he will visit his home club, OLGA Gymnastics and Trampoline Club, at Rossmore Leisure Centre.

Some of the events taking place include track cycling at Bournemouth Velodrome, Slades Farm (although this may be affected by the wet weather); tennis and cardio tennis at Southbourne Tennis Club, Ping! table tennis at a variety of locations; Poole Parkrun will be dedicated to I Am Team GB and Poole Taekwon-Do Academy at the Dolphin Centre.

There will also be activities at Fitness First in Poole, Moors Valley Parkrun, Swanage and Wareham Rugby Club, Nordic Walking at Rhinefield and other activities at Fordingbridge Recreation Ground.
