AROUND 250,000 people visited Boscombe during an Olympics-themed sports event for families.
The Boscombe Summer Games took place from earlier this month in the Sovereign Shopping Centre and in the precinct.
During the event, shoppers and visitors enjoyed a host of activities including athletics, cycling and rugby sessions, table tennis, toddler play gyms, and BMX and mountain bike displays. There was also live music from Samba Panashe (CORR) and So Latin, as well as street dancing and taekwondo displays.
Peter Ruscoe, centre manager for the Sovereign Centre said "The Boscombe Games has been a great success, with hugely positive feedback from traders and customers alike.
"The first week of the event has been one of the Centre's busiest of the year and we are glad to have hosted some of the activities within the Centre. Due to the success of the Boscombe Games, we are looking forward to hosting the event again next year."
Medal winners were also announced on each day of the event, with several prizes donated by Boscombe market traders, Poole Taekwondo-Do Academy, Training Dayz and Urban Guild.
