WHEN Dan Hall married love of his life Kirsty Manning, there was not a dry eye in the house.

Just days before, the 28-year-old was in ward 11 of Royal Bournemouth Hospital undergoing aggressive chemotherapy after suffering a leukaemia relapse.

But thanks to the support of AFC Bournemouth players, Dan was determined to be well enough to see his bride walk down the aisle with the couple’s three-year-old daughter Madison-Skye.

And despite not knowing what the future holds for the young family, the dad-of-one says he is the luckiest man alive.

“Regardless of the cancer, I’m the happiest I’ve ever been and feel truly blessed to have such a loving wife and a beautiful little girl who I adore so much.

“Cherish every moment and every person around you because you just never know what is around the corner and what tomorrow will bring.”

The couple’s world turned upside down when Dan was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia on 31 October 2014. The lifelong Cherries fan underwent chemotherapy before a bone marrow transplant last summer.

He said: “Our lives changed in an instant but ever since I met Kirsty, she’s always been there for me, helping me and sorting me out for the better. That bond only got stronger and stronger.”

Dan decided to propose to Kirsty, 25, but just six weeks before the couple’s dream wedding, he received the devastating news he needed urgent chemotherapy in Royal Bournemouth Hospital.

“I was told the leukaemia was rapidly coming back in under a year from transplant. It was tough to take. Kirsty burst into tears in the consultant’s room.’”

Dan was adamant the wedding would still go ahead and with just three days to go, he was told he was well enough to leave hospital.

Dan was sent well-wishes from Cherries player Marc Pugh and former players Shaun Macdonald and Tommy Elphick and the pair got married at St Leonards Hotel surrounded by 170 close friends and family and hospital staff.

He said: “It was amazing. I was surprised with a limo to the venue with my two best men Dave and Craig.

“Kirsty looked stunning. She’s the most amazing woman with a heart of gold and will do anything for anyone. There were a lot of tears from so many people. It was a happy moment after 22 months of hell. Kirsty surprised me with a new Ford Focus ST as a wedding present."

Dan is now waiting for the results of further tests to find out if he needs more chemotherapy or another transplant.

“Only time will tell. For now I’m enjoying married life and spending as much time as possible with my little girl and new wife.

"My aim now is to spend more time with friends and family and get back to Bournemouth games because even though I’m a season ticket holder, I haven’t been able to attend a single game for the past 15 months and I’m yet to see them in the Premier League."

He added: “I wouldn’t say I fear for my future. It’s more fear for what I would leave behind.

“My family means everything to me and I am so lucky to have created my own special loving unit.

“If there’s one thing to add, it is that no matter what is chucked at you, if it is true love, it will never die.”
