THE Condor Liberation is expected to return to normal service tomorrow.

Sailings were cancelled today whilst repairs were undertaken following an engine failure.

One of the three main engines on the Liberation shut down whilst on passage to Guernsey on Monday morning.

A spokesman for Condor said: “Engineering work is currently progressing smoothly and Condor Liberation is expected to return to normal service tomorrow. We apologise for the disruption this has caused our passengers.”

The ferry was operating on an amended timetable yesterday after an engine problem on route to Guernsey.

A spokesman for Condor said earlier:"Our engineering team are working around the clock to rectify the issue, however, regrettably it is necessary to take Condor Liberation out of service tomorrow (Tuesday 9 August) for repair work to be carried out.

"Therefore, the service between Poole and the Channel Islands tomorrow will be cancelled.

"All passengers booked on tomorrow’s Condor Liberation sailing are being contacted and offered alternative travel on the next available conventional or high speed ferry sailing.

"We are sorry for the disruption this unexpected issue has caused our passengers."
