THESE tiny graduates threw their mortarboards in the air as they left an East Dorset pre-school this July.

Youngsters leaving Pamphill Pre-School for new primary schools in September took part in the special ceremony to mark the move.

As part of the event, children were presented with their end of term certificates by Wimborne's mayor, Councillor Sue Cook, and Shapwick Parish Council secretary Shirley Cook.

Wimborne councillor Robin Cook was also in attendance.

The young students donned red gowns and ceremonial caps to celebrate the end of their first experience in education.

Many will become pupils at Pamphill Primary School.

Pamphill Pre-School manager Debbie Gould said: "It has been a real privilege being part of the children’s first experience of education.

"I feel extremely lucky to head a fantastic team here and this celebration is always a very emotional and proud moment, not only for the parents of the children but also myself and my team.

"The pre-school was awarded an outstanding rating during a recent Ofsted inspection and works closely with the first school to ensure all children are confident and ready to start reception class."
