A MAN has been bailed following an alleged stabbing in Hamworthy.

Police confirmed a 43-year-old man arrested in connection with the attack has been released on bail pending further investigation.

Officers, including armed police, were called to Junction Road in Hamworthy at 10.58pm on Thursday.

A 50-year-old man sustained cuts to his arms and neck, said a spokesperson for Dorset Police.

He was taken to hospital for treatment but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The police helicopter was also deployed to help locate the suspect. 

A force spokesperson said the knife was recovered.
