WHILE I have seen and agree that some people are leaving a lot of rubbish on the beach (absolute laziness and inconsideration for the next person using that spot), the seagulls are causing a lot of litter everywhere.
I don’t blame them as they are scavenging for food in bins – doing what comes naturally!
Either bins need to be emptied more often – very difficult to keep up in the summer – or use only the type of bin with a sealed lid and openings on the sides.
Open, small bins are hopeless and should be removed as they are not serving the purpose.
I travelled through Bournemouth to the Dolphin Shopping Centre in Poole yesterday and watched as the gulls threw the litter around the pavements.
One can’t even chase them as they are back in seconds.
